Laser Tattoo Removal FAQ
This fast treatment uses medical grade technology and a non-ablative laser for the procedure, unfortunately however, some do find this treatment uncomfortable. One way in which we make this treatment more bearable is with the use of our Cryo-Cooler blasting out ice cold air to help soothe and numb the treated area.
Most patients describe a warm feeling akin to a light sunburn directly following certain treatments, but this will clear up within a couple of days.
Any and all concerns will be discussed with an expert practitioner during your initial consultation. Consultations cost £20, and will provide an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns with your practitioner, as well as understand more about what to expect from your treatment.
Laser Tattoo Removal with the Harmony XL Pro laser is considered the safest way to reduce the visibility of unwanted tattoos available in the market today.
The treatment itself is extremely safe, and side effects are kept to a minimum when performed by a qualified and experienced professional. Fortunately, these side effects often mild, kept to the treated area, and reduce significantly within the first week following treatment.
With that said, there are some common side effects to be aware of before undergoing any treatment. These include:
- Redness & Swelling
- Itching & Dryness
- Temporary Hyperpigmentation
- Slight Blistering
It is difficult to provide a precise answer for this without seeing the tattoo being removed, however, at your consultation an accurate timeline of treatment duration and number of treatments needed will be provided.
The larger the tattoo, the longer it will take to remove. Individual sessions on average take around 20-30 minutes. As the tattoo is unlikely to be removed after one session, follow-up sessions will be required to achieve a full removal.
Depending on the size of the tattoo, the depth & colour of the ink, and the complexity of the tattoo, you can expect to need between 5-15 sessions to achieve your goal. Treatments will need to be spaced 6-8 weeks apart to allow the area to heal between treatments.
One of the things that makes the Harmony XL Pro the industry leading device for common skin concerns and tattoo removal is its inclusivity for all skin types and pigmentations. For most people this treatment is suitable, and it is rare that you would be deemed unsuitable for this treatment.
At your initial consultation, we will discuss your medical history and make an analysis of whether or not you are suitable for treatment. Our experienced skin specialists will never recommend a treatment for you if we consider it to be dangerous or unsuitable for you and your skin.
Results of laser tattoo removal can vary from person to person. As this treatment requires repeat appointments, the further through your course of treatment, the more visible the results will be.
After your first session you will notice a significant reduction in the visibility of your tattoo once the healing process is in action. With each treatment you will notice your tattoo become fainter with each recovery period, until the tattoo is completely unnoticeable.
Our trained practitioners will be happy to discuss the expected results of each treatment at your consultation.
