RF Microneedling FAQ
The Focus Dual uses unique vacuum suction technology to stabilise the microneedles, for safer and more precise treatments, especially useful around the delicate eye area.
Focus Dual boasts non-insulated and superfine microneedles. Non-insulated microneedles are active along the entire length and cause high volumetric heating, offering enhanced results, reduced infection, faster healing, and safer treatments.
Treatments with non-insulated needles carry advantages for shorter procedure time, less trauma, and less downtime.
The Focus Dual also boasts the following benefits:
- 10 or 25 pin microneedle tips for large and small areas
- Fractional spacing means no energy overlap
- 5mm to 3.5mm microneedle depth options
- Needle depth is easily adjusted on the touchscreen to suit different skin concerns
Focus Dual uses superfine microneedles (only 0.16mm in diameter) creating a safer treatment with less bleeding and discomfort versus other devices.
This means there is little to no pain involved in the Focus Dual treatment, however the use of microneedles may incur a slight discomfort similar to the prick of a pin. The majority of patients describe it as perfectly tolerable, and any slight discomfort settles down quickly.
Side effects of Focus Dual are generally mild, and usually includes light dryness and swelling. There may also be slight edema, redness, and mild to moderate tingling or tenderness that lasts for about 3-5 days, however this should not affect sleep or normal activities.
You will be able to return to normal activities straight away, with no special recovery measures needed.
Please allow approximately an hour from start to finish per treatment. Treatment length for Focus Dual usually takes around 15-30 minutes, however specific treatment time may vary depending on the specific concerns being tackled. Our highly trained practitioners will happily discuss this at your free, no obligation consultation.
As the Focus Dual offers various different intensity settings and needle depths for the RF, this treatment can be customised very easily to all skin types. This treatment is perfect for those who suffer from early signs of ageing or are wishing to tackle acne signs.
Results can be seen the instant you leave the clinic, and the results will only improve up to 12 weeks following the treatment due to refreshed collagen production. As this treatment is bespoke on a patient-to-patient basis, specific results may vary in length. We will be happy to discuss this at our free, no obligation consultations.
Results of any Focus Dual treatment will usually last 1-2 years, however this can be dependent on lifestyle and maintenance. To increase the longevity of your results, we recommend a combination of the following to encourage healthier skin:
- Maintain a healthy skincare routine
- Minimise exposure to UV radiation
- Eating a balanced diet and maintain hydration
- Avoid any stress that accelerates the signs of ageing.
- Regular follow-up treatments.
There are a whole host of skin issues that RF Microneedling can treat. By invigorating the skin and stimulating smoother and thicker skin, this treatment can treat:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Surgery scars
- Hyperhidrosis
- Hyperpigmentation and cellulite
- Stretch marks and sagging skin
How does RF Microneedling work?
Combine Radiofrequency and Microneeedling for unbeatable results
Radiofrequency (RF) induces thermal trauma to stimulate neocollagenesis in deep layers of the skin, creating stronger, firmer skin to help with concerns such as wrinkles and laxity.
For Microneedling, ultrafine needles penetrate the skin at different depths and release radiofrequency energy to heat the skin in a controlled manner, stimulating a wound healing response that leads to the production of collagen and elastin.
Combine Radiofrequency and Microneedling (RFM) together and you have a dual effect on the tissue for a whole host of textural and ageing concerns such as acne scars, skin laxity, stretch marks, open pores, and wrinkles. Overall, your skin will gradually smooth out, with an improvement in tightness and quality. The results will be wholly natural, as the treatment stimulates the production of elastin and collagen.
